Squidly’s Revenge Gives You Eight Arms, All Holding A Gun

Want enemies to catch these hands, all eight of them? There’s a game on the way that gives you that chance.

Squidly’s Revenge is a roguelike reverse bullet hell, along the lines of Vampire Survivors or Brotato. 

You take on the role of Squidly, an ordinary squid thrown into extraordinary circumstances, as he faces a sinister cult intent on dragging others into the deep. 

The trouble is, the deep is exactly where Squidly lives!

While you might think a creature with no bones might be a pushover, Squidly got some divine help on his side. The sea god Poseidon charged the scored cephalopod with taking on the evil cult, and gave him the power to inflict his wiggly, many-armed wrath on the forces of darkness.

Use Your Enemies’ Weapons Against Them

As you might expect with a roguelike, gameplay is all about making the most of what you can get. Squidly has lots of arms with which to hold weapons. Enemies will drop weapons that you can pick up and use to bring more destruction. 

When you make progress, you can pick some upgrades from a selection, and must choose widely to last as long as possible. 

Runs are randomized, with a different experience each time. You’ll need to cope with hordes of regular enemies trying to swarm you, though that’s not all. 

There are big, dangerous bosses lurking out there, all with their own gimmicks. Box with a mantis shrimp, or avoid an electric eel’s dangerous lightning beams. Work your way up to facing off with the whale who caused all this mess.

If a run doesn’t work out, it’s not a waste of time. You can get upgrades in between runs that will help you on every run in the future, so you continue to get stronger.
