Have you ever wondered what it’d be like running your own country? Did you consider that maybe you’d control your empire with a Tinder-like interface that sees you swiping left and right to make your decisions? Probably not, but that’s the main thrust of Reigns: Her Majesty, which is out now for iOS and Android.

Much like its predecessor, the game sees you taking the reins of a country. Various factions come to you with suggestions and questions, and you need to answer them. Your answer will changed the balance of power between the factions though, and you need to make sure none of them gets too powerful or weak.

If that happens, your reign comes to an end. Usually quite horribly. Don’t worry though, because you’ll be reincarnated as the next queen and get to keep playing. And the more you play, the more the story behind everything starts to reveal itself.

So if you’re on the look-out for a choose-your-own-adventure game with plenty of twists and an intriguingly modern interface, you could do an awful lot worse than grabbing Reigns: Her Majesty from the App Store by clicking here, or from the Google Play Store by clicking here.

Simon has been playing portable games since his Game Boy Pocket and a very worn out copy of Donkey Kong Land 2, and he has no intention of stopping anytime soon. Playing Donkey Kong Land 2 that is. And games in general we suppose.
