Is Rocket League removing the player-to-player trading system? What influenced such a strange feature and how does it change the future of gameplay for the Rocket League fans?

Rocket League has announced that the trading feature will be finished by December 5th at 4:00 pm PST. This bold decision means that players can no longer exchange or lend items out to one another after this update has launched. This has already been met with controversy as players have expressed distaste claiming this harsh update will kill the game.

So What Happens?

Well, thankfully any trades done before December 5th won’t be undone. So anything you’ve obtained this far is still secure with you. But, this also means any item you may have lent to a friend will also be stuck with them. (So don’t forget to ask for it back). You aren’t really supposed to lend items anyway, but hey, we can’t stop you. We are just news.

Duplicated items are a different matter, however. The trade-in system will remain in place for your duplicated finds and you will still be awarded a random new item of the same or higher rarity. The unwanted items you can trade in include Core Items, Tournament Items, and Blueprints.

Why Is This Happening?

The team behind Rocket League is trying to align with Epic’s overall approach to game cosmetics. After Psyonix sold the Rocket League IP to Epic, the game faced many changes which loyal players typically consider to be downgrades. This update proves no different. Epic has announced that this update actually opens up for future plans for the game where Rocket League vehicles merge into other Epic games, supporting cross-game ownership.

You can find out more about this upcoming update through the Rocket League website. Don’t forget to check out some of our other news too! A New Guitar Hero is Reportedly in the Works at Activision! That news is surely more welcomed than this update…
