Upcoming title Racc & Roll is going for metals! Well, it’s a co-op metal detecting hangout game where you and your friends play as raccoons wearing absolutely massive backpacks. Yep, that’s a major detail, and it matters as much as your character.

Wandering around an island searching for hidden treasures, the raccoons in Racc & Roll definitely look cute. The game is being developed and published by Raccoon Sanitation Dept., and it’s their debut title.

Racc & Roll

You play as a little raccoon exploring a treasure-filled island, relaxing, metal detecting, and digging up whatever trash or treasure happens to be buried underground. The island hides more than 500 unique collectables.

You’ll use your metal detector along with upgrades to track them down. Some of the discoveries even come with their own short stories and little events.

Once you’ve hauled all that junk home, you can actually use it. The game lets you build and decorate a hidden base using the trash you collect. You can make your own little hideout or throw one together with your friends instead.

You can just wander around the island together without feeling rushed. And it’s full of random activities. If you want to push your friends around in a shopping cart, go for it. Or you can just sit around peacefully making s’mores.

You can also unlock cosmetics and mix different pieces together to give your raccoon its own style. Racc & Roll includes online lobbies, text chat, metal detecting upgrades, three unique maps, solo play, and online co-op.

Raccoon Sanitation Dept. is a team of four indie game makers. Huge fans of WEBFISHING, they want to bring that same kind of laid-back multiplayer experience to players through Racc & Roll. You can wishlist the game on Steam now. They’re planning to drop a demo in August, while the full release is in Q4 2026.
