Game developer extraordinaire PopCap and popular construction toy company K’NEX have announced a new partnership this morning to bring a new line of K’NEX toys based on the beloved Plants vs. Zombies franchise. Now fans of the popular “flower” defense series will be able to build their very own real-live neighborhoods as seen in the game, and cover their K’NEX front lawns with some of their favorite anti-zombie defense measures: the plants!

The list of confirmed Plants vs. Zombies characters so far to make an appearance in the upcoming K’NEX sets include the Sunflower, Wall-nut, Peashooter, Zombie, Mummy Zombie, and Pirate Zombie. It should also be noted that the sets will incorporate “other popular elements” from PopCap’s flower defense franchise as well, so I’ve got my fingers crossed that we see a full K’NEX replica of Crazy Dave by this time next year.

But for those of us already itching to get our hands dirty with building all of the Plants vs. Zombies creations we can think of, it looks like we’re going to have to wait a little while first before we can get to constructing. We’ll be getting our first glimpse of what the new PvZ K’NEX toys will look like in February 2014 at the NY Toy Fair, before the full product line becomes available to the public in the fall of 2014.

Will you be picking up a set or two of Plants vs. Zombies K’NEX toys? What other plants and zombie types would you like to see make it into the new product line? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the replies!
