DeNA and The Pokémon Company have revealed more information about Pokémon Masters, the upcoming mobile game that launches across iOS and Android in summer 2019.

We now know that it focuses on 3-on-3 real-time battles, with players exploring the all-new island of Pasio seeking Trainers and their Pokémon partners.

Pokémon Masters Features a Unique Battling System for the Franchise

At launch, there will be 65 trainers to collect – each of which has its own Pokémon partner. So far, we know that Korrina and Lucario, Brendan and Treecko, and Clair and Kingdra will make an appearance alongside many more.

Your goal is to become champion of the Pokémon Masters League by battling your way through the tournament with your favourite team of Pokémon and Trainers.

There is a story, which charts your meteoric rise throughout the tournament, as well as your initial meeting with many of the Trainers in the game.

The battling system seems pretty intriguing too. Instead of being turn-based, you battle against Trainers in real time. They’ll use moves at the exact same time as you, and you can directly order your Trainers to use healing items and other stuff to boost your Pokémon on the fly.

Pokémon Masters launches on iOS and Android in summer 2019, and we’ll let you know as soon as we narrow down that release date a bit.
