The Winter Pocket Playfest from TapTap has announced its Player’s Choice Award winner amongst two weeks of fierce competition.

A celebration of indie game making, the event ran from December 23rd to January 7th and showcased a range of new tiles from indie developers.

It was held on the TapTap games discovery platform, and players voted on their favourite titles – with many being playable on mobile for the first time via the event.

Cloud gaming is used to play the entrants too, so there’s no need to download every single game – just click on and play every single title in-app. Pretty nifty.

And we finally have a winner, and that game is…Minds Beneath Us!

A sci-fi story powered thriller, it’s a game we actually highlighted in our Feature earlier this month. It’s definitely a worthy winner and we’d recommend you checking it out for the narrative alone, which really drew us in.

Honorable mentions went to survival horror Heaven Dust 2 which came second, and beautiful roguelike Devil Slayer – Raksasi which ended up third.

There were a host of other games well worthy of your time from the event though, including the amazingly titled Devil Slot Machine, hilarious Pesticide Not Required, and intriguing Wild Legion.

Prizes were given out too, naturally. There were nine winners of Pocket Playfest’s Player Rewards for example, with prizes including $1,000 cash.

As mentioned earlier we talked about some of our favourite games from the event right here, so make sure you check that out.

We’d recommend looking over all the details of the winners via the article on the official TapTap site here too.
