Players Only asks “Are Games Dead?”

Digital Trends has just launched Season 2 of its video series Players Only with Scott Steinberg. (Scott’s name might be familiar to Gamezebo readers for the many reviews and article’s he’s penned for the site over the years.) Season 2 opens with a two-parter that explores the question Are Games Dead? The answer? No, but the days of console dominance and big publishers might be over.

There’s some interesting discussion about how casual, social, and episodic games are coming into their own, but the quote that really rang true for us was from Chris Taylor of Gas Powered Games, who said: "We have too many people who have a love of money in our industry. We need more people who have a love of art. Who have a love of creating games." Amen, Chris! Head over to Digital Trends to check out Part 1 and Part 2.
