Playdom hires former Yahoo! and Microsoft exec as new CTO

Facebook developer Playdom has brought David Sobeski, a former exec with Yahoo! and Microsoft, on board as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer.

Facebook developer Playdom has brought David Sobeski, a former exec with Yahoo! and Microsoft, on board as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer.

Prior to joining Playdom, Sobeski was a Senior Vice President at Yahoo! where he delivered Yahoo!’s Open Strategy and Data platform. Before Yahoo! Sobeski held various executive roles at Microsoft where he worked on user experience with Windows Vista, mobility on Microsoft Exchange Server, and was involved with MSN.com, the creation of Microsoft’s Java Virtual Machine and Internet Explorer.

According to Playdom, Sobeski is also a lifelong console, PC and Mac gamer who writes iPhone games in his spare time.
