Playdom seems to think so too, as they’ve awarded MetroGames $5 million in series A funding to expand development of its games as well as its Metrogames.com social gaming platform.

“We are pleased Playdom has recognized our potential and chosen to invest in us,” said Damian Harburguer, CEO of MetroGames. “We are very confident MetroGames will become one of the world leaders in social gaming during this next wave of explosive growth in the industry.”
Money isn’t the only thing Playdom is sending Metrogames way. Playdom CEO John Pleasants will be added to MetroGames Board of Directors, joining Harburguer and Metrogames COO Julian Lisenberg.
