According to Capcom, Onimusha Soul will be a browser-based RPG, and its gameplay will feature both action and puzzle elements. The Unity 3D engine will handle the game’s visuals.
Of course, Onimusha Soul wouldn’t be much of a social experience if the game didn’t let you pal around. You’ll be able to make friends with other players, fight demons together, and fight against each other.
If you’ve never experienced an Onimusha game, it’s never too late to acquaint yourself. Onimusha games are primarily hack-and-slash affairs that pit the player against demon hordes haunting the tail-end of Japan’s feudal period. When the player slays demons, he or she can absorb the monsters’ souls in order to power up weapons and armor, and restore health.
Even though the Onimusha series seemingly fell by the wayside in 2006, it’s still a popular franchise with nearly 8 million games sold in total. See? Capcom never forgets, so take heart, Mega Man fans.
Onimusha Soul will hit browsers on June 28, and a mobile version of the game will follow at a later date.
