Play the Obsidian Legion Demo Now!

Sadly, there’s no official release date as of right now, but the Steam page states that it is “Coming soon”. However, there’s a playable demo! It’s not clear whether or not this demo is available for a limited time or not, but I suggest trying it out as soon as possible – just in case.

Capturing the iconic medieval fantasy vibes that we’ve all come to love in Dark Souls (and Elden Ring, of course!), Obsidian Legion feels like the perfect 2D homage to the classic. Combat looks fun, the enemy designs are brilliant, and the stunning environments are intricately designed.

A Dazzling Dark Fantasy World

It’s clear to see that a lot of thought went into the atmospheric world-building. Despite the limits of a 2D game, I’d say that the developers have done an absolutely phenomenal job. There’s even mist, smoke, and reflections in the water as you explore – which I was extremely impressed by when I watched the trailer for the first time.

Berserk fans, it’s your time. You play as a member of a mercenary group, tasked with finding an Am Balla artifact. You make your way to the island, but once you get there, you quickly realise that something isn’t quite right. Looks like this mission won’t be as simple as you originally thought…

During combat, you can utilise a variety of skills and weapons. As you wander around, you’ll come across new weapons, which can then be upgraded. If you’ve played a soulslike title before, or an RPG in general, you’ll know that character upgrades are the priority. Expect to come face to face with terrifying enemies, and almighty bosses who will surely put your abilities to the test.
