Nothing odd about it: Oddworld New ‘n’ Tasty destined for PC, too

Long, long ago, an alien named Abe came to the PlayStation. Abe was a friendly alien, but he was also in a lot of trouble: He worked for ruthless slave masters who sought to turn him and his species into processed snack food. Abe fled and tried to find his way to safety by stumbling through several puzzle/platforming levels. But trouble has a way of coming back around, and Abe is being forced to relive his original plight in Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty.

Abe fled and tried to find his way to safety by stumbling through several puzzle/platforming levels. But trouble has a way of coming back around, and Abe is being forced to relive his original plight in Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty.

Making its debut during Sony’s Playstation 4 extravaganza at E3 yesterday, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is an HD remake of the classic 1997 PlayStation title Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. Once more, Abe overhears his masters’ plans to turn his race into food, and he attempts to escape across the puzzle-rich surface of his home world.

The PlayStation reveal had many gamers worried that Abe might not visit other systems – after all, a lot of gamers got their first taste of Oddworld on the PC.  Thankfully, developer Oddworld Inhabitants has confirmed that the game will appear on PC, as well as PlayStation 3, Wii U, PS Vita (and, of course, the PlayStation 4) this holiday season.
