New iOS Games Tonight: Fish Out of Water, Cut the Rope: Time Travel and more!

Dudes and dudettes. Girls and boys. Ladies and gentlemen. Males and females. Is this starting to get annoying? I hope not, because it’s time for New iOS Games Tonight, and it would be kind of a bummer if I killed your motivation to read it in the very first paragraph.

In case you didn’t know, Wednesday nights are typically when most big-name games are released on the App Store. This week is no different, with releases from mobile juggernauts like Halfbrick and ZeptoLabs in the pipeline. If neither of those names mean anything to you, then perhaps a game starring none other than the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES will excite you. Who doesn’t love them?

Fish Out of Water – From the folks who brought you Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, Fish Out of Water is a game about skipping fish across the ocean. It’s simple in theory, but the real complexity comes from the different powers of each fish in the game, as well as the sea creatures who judge your skipping abilities at the end of each run. And did we mention achievements? There will be achievements!

Cut the Rope: Time Travel – More Cut the Rope is always a good thing. In Time Travel, players will be tasked with feeding candy to Om Nom as well as a variety of his ancestors, ranging from Pirate Om Nom to Egyptian Om Nom. Needless to say, they’re pretty freakin’ adorable.

Ark of Sinners Advance – Action-platformers are all over the App Store, but Ark of Sinners Advance has the potential to be one of the better ones available. Not only does it have an interesting story to tell (which I won’t spoil here), but it looks to have a control scheme that allows you to slash away at enemies with the slightest of ease. Consider us interested.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rooftop Run – It’s a little odd to see the Ninja Turtles in an endless runner, but here we are. However, in all fairness, it looks like Rooftop Run will also place a heavy emphasis on combat, which is a little closer to what those rambunctious turtles are all about. It remains to be seen whether pizza will be a pivotal part of the game, but I’m assuming it will. Yum.
