Ah, the week of E3! For many of us gamers, the Electronic Entertainment Expo is that magical time we patiently wait for each and every year, when all of those surprises and game announcements and sugarplums dance around in our heads. And even though we don’t cover news about console game releases here on Gamezebo, we’re still more than in the spirit of all the goodness that lies ahead for gaming in 2013. But now it’s time to take our minds off of what’s coming up at the end of the year, because there are also all sorts of exciting new games that are headed our way even sooner – tonight in fact!

If you’ve been too caught up in all of the E3 festivities going on over the last few days, then you might have missed out on a gorgeous endless runner that’s based on one of this summer’s biggest blockbuster animated movies. You also might have missed an elegant block-based puzzler that promises to provide an insanely fast-paced challenge. And of course, you might have completely missed the long-awaited mobile debut of a fan-favorite board game. So make sure you take a break from all of that E3 news today, at least for a little while, because here are a few of the new iOS games coming out tonight!

news

Agricola – I remember the good old days before mobile gaming, or heck, even before board gaming for that matter! Back then, I had to plant and grow my own entire farm in real life in order to compete with my neighboring farmers for top gaming kudos. As you can imagine, each “game” took an entire year, and it was really all rather boring. Luckily, now I can play the fantastic Agricola instead, which is based on the popular agricultural board game from 2007. With pass-and-play multiplayer between 2 and 5 players, as well as different options for asynchronous or real-time online play, Playdek has ensured that you’ll be able to play Agricola exactly the way you want to.

Despicable Me: Minion Rush – If you happen to be as excited about Despicable Me 2 as I am, then you’ve probably dreamed about controlling one of your very own little minions before. And even though the upcoming movie won’t hit theaters until July, that’s really fine by me, because now I’ll have this awesome new endless runner game featuring everyone’s favorite loveable yellow minions to play! Judging from that debut gameplay trailer up there, the graphics look so good that if you hadn’t told me it was for a video game, I might have thought it was part of the upcoming movie instead!

CRUSH! – Developed by Radiangames, while they were waiting for the equally fantastic Bombcats to get approved on the App Store, this slick and fast-paced block puzzle game looks anything but simple and laid-back. In fact, the description page for the game itself even warns players right off the bat that, “This game is hard! If you survive for 2 minutes, you are doing really well.” I’ll be sure to keep that in mind as an extra confidence boost, while I frantically try and balance my thinking and reaction skills to keep those colorful blocks from taking over the screen!

news

Cling Thing – If you’ve ever been in a serious relationship before, then you’re probably well-versed in all of the dangers of being clingy. But sometimes we can’t help it! Sometimes we’re just so in love that we don’t want to let the other person go. Luckily in the new physics puzzler Cling Thing from Chillingo, being clingy is the name of the game (quite literally!), so no one would even blame you if you wanted to cling on tight to your significant other the entire time you’re playing. Who knows, maybe it’ll actually give you some deeper insights towards succeeding in the game!
