Libe Goad from Games.com reports that Playfish COO Sebastien de Halleux let it slip that they are bringing Monopoly to Facebook during a panel at GDC Online.

Electronic Arts owns the digital rights of Monopoly through a deal with Hasbro and Electronic Arts owns Playfish so . . . I guess we all could have seen this game coming.

How will Monopoly translate on Facebook? Will it be turn-based or real-time? We don’t know, yet.

Based on the popularity of other classic board games and game shows on Facebook (e.g., classic games with killer brand recognition, like Family Feud or The Price is Right), this is definitely a game that is on our radar screen.
