Mobility Unleashed contest searches for the Best Indie Game Developer

Calling all U.S. mobile game developers! Mobility Unleashed wants to find the absolute best developer of indie games right now on the market. Sponsored by Qualcomm and YetiZen, this exciting contest calls for all interested games studios to submit their best and “snappiest” game for consideration in what will undoubtedly become an important and high accolade to slap on your latest indie gem. There will be two selected winners in the contest: one for Android, and one for Windows. However, it should be noted that all games are expected to be of the highest console quality if they stand a chance at winning.

So what are the prizes, you might ask? In addition to bragging rights as the “Best Indie Game Developer,” prizes for the winners will include: $10,000 worth of distribution for each winning game; over 5 hours of 1-on-1 mentorship from top industry leaders and veterans; prime exposure during GDC week (worth an estimated $20,000 value); and expedited consideration for the YetiZen Accelerator program, the world’s only game-focused accelerator.

If that’s not incentive enough for all you indie game developers out there to get back to coding or finishing up that final level, then I don’t know what is! The deadline for submitting your game to Mobility Unleashed is February 8, 2013, and then the two contest winners will be announced on February 22, 2013 at the YetiZen Innovation Lab in San Francisco. Indie developers have certainly become the unexpected all-stars of the gaming industry in the last few years, and it’s great to see their talents and all their hard work recognized and rewarded in this way. So bring on the games, developers, and may the best indie game win!
