Maze of Magic is an upcoming puzzler in which you have to attempt to escape a magical labyrinth. Your goal is to get in there, collect some Magic Scrolls, and vanish before the evil sorcerer Zordak can stop you.

Not only do you have to avoid a variety of magical traps, but Zordak will cast spells to hinder you. Maybe he’ll remove the floor from beneath you or summon new traps. Makes you wonder why he doesn’t just chuck a fireball at your face and be done with you.

Maze of Magic Features Over 40 Levels and Tons of Characters to Unlock

Each level is procedurally generated too, so you’ll never quite know what to expect. This provides a constant level of challenge but also promotes replayability. That’s without mentioning the unpredictability of Zordak himself, who can change the entire make up of the maze at any moment.

Each level is timed too, so while all of this is going on you have to try and keep an eye on the clock to ensure you can make it to the end safely. Fortunately, you do have a compass that will help keep you on the right path – so long as you’re paying attention.

Visually, it’s a pretty decent looking game, despite the fact it keeps things simple. It reminds us a lot of the Square Enix GO games like Hitman GO or Lara Craft GO.

There’s also an awful lot of content, with over 40 levels available at launch and more on the way, according to developer Faction of Four. You can also spend gems to unlock new characters, including wizards, warriors, skeletons, and royalty.

Maze of Magic sounds like an awful lot of off-kilter fun, and we can’t wait to check it out. It launches exclusively on iOS on June 26. You can learn more about it on the official site if you’re curious.
