Happy Halloween guys! To celebrate Halloween, I’d like to highlight a brand-new game that’s been on my radar for quite some time. Little Goody Two Shoes is a horror dating simulator (yes, I’m serious) that features an absolutely charming hand-drawn art style. In fact, the art style is reminiscent of late 90s/early 2000s anime – especially the big Moe eyes!

To discover more about Little Goody Two Shoes, make sure to visit the game’s official Steam page, where you can also purchase the full game or try out the demo right now.

A Not-So Fairytale Ending… Maybe

Gameplay-wise, the characters are adorable pixelated chibi sprites, with the overall UI and map oozing with fairytale-style goodness. I mean, with a name like Little Goody Two Shoes, it’s pretty clear from the offset that this game is a unique take on the fairytale genre.

Anyway, onto the story. Elise finds glistening red shoes (sounds familiar), and she can’t help herself. She takes them as nobody is looking, but soon finds herself becoming bewitched! Now, you can either take Elise on a journey through the woods, or you can send her back to her mundane daily life – the choice is yours to make, with 10 endings to reach.

Keep the Romance Alive… and Elise

Let’s not forget that the cute art style is a cover-up for the horror themes lurking below – but that’s what makes this game so special. I mentioned above that Little Goody Two Shoes is also a dating simulator… well, it’s also a life sim! As the sun rises, it’s your job to make sure she builds and maintains relationships with the villagers of Kieferberg. You also need to earn money to survive, which can be done by taking part in an array of minigames.

As the sun sets, it’s time to venture into the deep dark woods. Elise needs to have plenty of food, HP, and mental energy to be able to deal with the beings she may come across during the night. The day and night cycles last only so long, so make sure you’re constantly on the move!

At least you can head back to the village as the moon slowly descends, where you can enjoy your free time mingling with and romancing fellow residents. Each character has their own storyline and special date scenes too! Plus, the romanceable characters are all female, making Little Goody Two Shoes a fantastic example of LGBTQ+ representation in the world of video games.

I could ramble on for hours about this horror dating sim, but alas, it’s time for you to decide whether or not you want to pick it up this Halloween! I couldn’t recommend it enough, and I can’t wait to play the full version later today.
