Former Linden Labs exec Judy Wade has joined Hands-On Mobile as the company’s new president and CEO. In her new role, Wade has been tasked with growing the company’s presence as a developer and publisher of mobile and social games.

Hands-On Mobile’s portfolio includes Guitar Hero Mobile and WPT Texas Hold’Em. The company has also recently begun developing social games under its FunClick subsidiary. FunClick’s first Facebook game, WPT Texas Hold ‘Em Poker, recently debuted on the social networking platform.

Prior to joining Hands-On Mobile, Wade served as VP of Strategy and Emerging Business at Linden Labs, creators of the virtual world Second Life. She was previously an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Kapor Enterprises, where her role included evaluating opportunities for using virtual worlds and serious games to deliver enterprise training. Prior to that, she was a Partner at McKinsey & Company and a semiconductor analyst at Hambrecht & Quist.

In a prepared statement, Wade commented that Hands-On Mobile has a tremendous opportunity to take both mobile and social gaming to the next level.

“From the user’s perspective,” she added, “as the distinction between social and mobile is blurring, our focus moving forward will be on creating engaging games and delivering enhanced community experiences regardless of the platform.”
