Replay Games and Larry’s creator Al Lowe has started up a Kickstarter for Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded. If the Kickstarter is successful, they’ll develop a modern remake of the very first Leisure Suit Larry game. It’ll feature the same adventure-based gameplay that you fell in love with over 20 years ago, but it’ll be outfitted with HD graphics, voice acting, and will be available on mobile platforms as well as the PC. Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded will be sleek, it’ll be stylish, and of course, it’ll be very sexy.
(Except when Larry enters the scene, but otherwise…)
Will you be rewarded for pledging to the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded Kickstarter? You bet, though you should probably put away any dreams of supermodels gliding up to your front door and knocking. There’s still some great stuff, though (awards are cumulative): for $15, you’ll get a downloadable version of Lounge Lizards: Reloaded—and it may very well be your first legal copy of the game, ha ha ha. For $25, you’ll get a download link to the game’s soundtrack. For $50, you’ll get a PDF of production drawings and artwork related to the game’s development. For $75, you’ll become a beta tester.
If you’re really in the mood to turn out your pockets, consider the $7,500 pledge. Your dog will actually be cast as the in-game mutt who pees on Larry. Now that is fame.
