Social strategy game developer Kabam has announced it has acquired Fearless Studios.

Founded in 2010, Fearless has yet to release a game, but its founders have quite a bit of experience with developing AAA console and PC games. Co-founder and CCO Haden Blackman has previously worked on games like Star Wars; The Force Unleashed, while co-founder and CTO Cedrick Colomb is the former director of engineering for LucasArts.

“The Fearless Studios team brings a wealth of talent and experience in creating outstanding, highly successful AAA titles across a range of genres,” Kabam CEO Kevin Chou said. “Their skills in game design, emerging technologies, and proficiency in making the transition from 2D to 3D on consoles mesh perfectly with Kabam’s strategy.

“We’ll significantly strengthen our industry leadership as the online gaming market transitions to higher fidelity, 3D gameplay with our acquisition of Fearless Studios.”

Just what Fearless will be working on next was not revealed, but Blackman explained that “joining [Kabam] gives our team a once in a lifetime opportunity to forge a new paradigm for what players can experience in an online game.”

Kabam is best known for its Facebook strategy games like Global Warfare, Edgeworld, and The Godfather: Five Families.
