You know what’s better than one free-to-play game based on The Hobbit trilogy? Two free-to-play games based on The Hobbit trilogy! Social games developer Kabam is teaming up with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to deliver as much – one for iOS and one for the web.

The iOS game, The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth, will revolve around kingdom management, not unlike Kabam’s previous titles. Your kingdom will exist in a massive world populated by other players, and you’ll be able to form alliances and engage in large-scale wars. As you might have guessed, this will all take place in a setting plucked from the films/books.

The web game, The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age, will be a competitive RTS. Players will be able to choose an army of Elves, Dwarves or Orcs, with characters like Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins making appearances.

No release date has been announced for either game yet, but they’re set to arrive sometime “this Fall.” And if it helps with the wait, you can sign up for the upcoming beta of The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age here.
