As the ramp-up to next week’s Game Developer’s Conference continuess, Apple is showcasing the iPhone game finalists and nominees in the Independent Games Festival Mobile competition in a new section on the front page of the iTunes App Store.
IGF Mobile takes place next week during the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, where all category winners will compete for the $2,500 Best Mobile Game prize. Although the competition is open to all handheld gaming devices, including iPhone and other cellphones, the Nintendo DS and Sony PlayStation Portable, iPhone/iPod Touch games dominated the list of nominees this year and account for four out of five of the finalists.
