HTML5 is the next big thing, supposedly, but Facebook developers have been slow to adopt. But the upcoming Resortico, which appears to be a fairly standard tropical resort sim, proudly proclaims its HTML5 roots.

Spotted by Games.com, details on Resortico are few and far between. In fact, we don’t even know who is developing the game. All we have to go by is this brief teaser trailer:

The game itself looks like your standard social sim, with plenty of building and collecting. but it’s all set in a beautiful tropical resort. The HTML5 aspect makes the game much more notable, however, as the markup language makes it possible to play the game on devices other than your desktop or laptop computer, unlike traditional Facebook games. So you’ll be able to bring your resort with you on any device that can access the social network.

Resortico‘s site currently says that the game is “almost ready,” so it shouldn’t be too long before we get to see just what all the fuss is about.
