tinyBuild, the publisher behind Graveyard Keeper, Potion Craft, and Kingmakers, is bringing a new game. Developed by Scythe Studios, it’s Happy’s Humble BURGATORY. And yes, it’s the next instalment in the Happy’s Humble series.

Back with another helping of fast-food horror!

Happy’s Humble BURGATORY is set to arrive on Steam on July 16th. It’s continuing the strange universe that began with the 2021 indie horror title Happy’s Humble Burger Farm. This time, it’s co-op play, with support for 1-4 players.

You take part in an experiment run by the Paragon Corporation, working what appears to be a normal fast-food job. The tasks are familiar enough: grill burgers, fry sides, pour drinks, work the register, prepare and pack burgers, fries, drinks, and desserts, keep customers satisfied, and hit required quotas before the shift ends.

But, but, but! Every shift runs on a timer, and it’s the kitchen that eventually wins. Once the simulation begins falling apart, Asset Joy escapes containment and starts hunting employees through the restaurant. The mascot from the original game returns as the main threat.

One of BURGATORY’s more unusual mechanics is the voice chat. The game actively listens to what players say through their microphones. Saying the wrong word can alert Asset Joy to your location, while certain incantations can alter the environment itself. You need to learn which words are useful and which ones are better left unsaid.

No two shifts play out exactly the same way. More than 35 gameplay modifiers can dramatically change how a run unfolds. Rush Hour floods the restaurant with additional customers. Profanity Policy punishes teams whenever someone swears over voice chat.

Other modifiers can interfere with recipes or equipment. For instance, Back Burner changes recipes during a run, while Midmaxxing, which disrupts appliance cooking temperatures. On that note, catch a glimpse of Happy’s Humble BURGATORY below.
