Id is joining Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. Back in March, the developers teased that a new fighter would be arriving as part of Season 2.60. Although they didn’t say who it was, players immediately started guessing it’d be Id from Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok.

And yes, everyone was right. Id brings over one of the things that made him stand out in Relink too. He can switch between his normal human form and his powerful draconic form. He doesn’t rely on projectiles at all.

Everything arrives on September 17th, 2026, with Version 2.60. Besides adding Id as a playable DLC character, the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising update also includes other new features. There’s a new stage called Ainsteddo Archipelago, a new system mechanic, adjustments to existing system mechanics, character balance changes for several fighters, and a new costume.

Meanwhile, publisher Cygames and developer Arc System Works also confirmed that Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is finally coming to Nintendo Switch 2. In fact, it’s launching on the exact same day as the Version 2.60 update and Id’s release.

Version 2.60 also brings in Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok, which launches earlier on July 9th, 2026. Starting September 17th, you can link your save data from Endless Ragnarok with Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising to unlock bonus content. That includes a special weapon skin for Id and a Lyria (Shaman of Salvation) lobby avatar.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is a 2D fighting game developed by Arc System Works and published by Cygames. A sequel to Granblue Fantasy Versus, it launched worldwide in December 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC through Steam.

Outside of regular matches, the game also has lobby-based party minigames called Grand Bruise Legends!, inspired by the Grand Blues! webcomic. Modes like Rising Royale and Gold Brick Hoarder are there for when you want something a little less sweaty than ranked matches.
