Is Kratos returning in yet another God Of War game? Do we have confirmation on these God of War leaks? What was once thought to be teasers of DLC content may actually now be revealed as the announcement of a brand new God Of War game on the horizon. Nothing has been officially mentioned, yet, but we do have some theories backing up the speculation.

Are The Leaks Reliable?

Are any leaks reliable? I want to preface this news by saying this post isn’t claiming a new game is going to be announced. But, from snooping around the corners of the internet we have found some peculiar activity from Santa Monica Studios that point to yes. So let’s get into the potential God of War leaks.

Santa Monica Studios is already hard at work on other projects. However, recent job listings for the company detail that a perfect candidate is someone with knowledge of God of War’s combat. Demanding strong knowledge of the previous two games definitely raises suspicions. But this alone isn’t enough to say for certain a new game is arriving.

So what else? This specific job listing points to the idea of a new game. A Twitter interaction by ViewerAnon echoes the idea of a DLC or sequel which can be seen here. This raises the idea of a half-sequel that would feature Atreus as the main protagonist. This makes total sense for the GoW franchise as fans have already expressed interest in a game that features Atreus, concluding the lore and expanding the world.

Final Thoughts

The God of War Ragnarok game concluded the Norse Saga. It’s unlikely they will finalize the GoW saga there. God of War is a huge money maker for Sony. So the IP won’t be abandoned here, and we are likely to see new content in the future. When and what exactly is the real question?

It could be argued that the specific job role is actually for a different project altogether unrelated to the God of War IP. However, this comes into question when considering if they would require new staff using GoW as experience and inspiration, rather than for the actual IP itself.
