While it may look like a kids’ game at first, I assure you that you’ll end up playing this game once I tell you all about it. Glenmara: Still Life Artist is an upcoming PC title by Bit Loom. They just revealed the game during the Glasgow Indie Games Festival 2026.

Bit Loom is the same team behind the BAFTA-nominated PHOGS! and Tray Racers!. The latter also picked up the Green Game Jam 2023 Best Newcomer award. Glenmara: Still Life Artist features handmade art by the developers, who are based in Dundee, Scotland.

What’s Glenmara: Still Life Artist about?

It’s about art. Your neighbours ask you to make different artworks for them. As they hand over sentimental little knick-knacks and everyday objects, you learn more about their stories. Requests might be making a leaflet for the island beach clean, decorating an old dollhouse, or creating a fresh painting to brighten up someone’s home.

You arrange objects until everything feels right. Tweak the lighting, move the camera around, adjust the framing, and keep nudging things into place until the composition looks exactly how you want. Then you paint it using a bunch of customisable painting styles.

As you keep playing, you’ll unlock loads of different objects to work with. Each one comes with its own colours and material options. You’ll also unlock different painting styles, discover unique backdrops and lighting setups.

Glenmara: Still Life Artist also lets you create a traditional oil painting with a bowl of fruit and a vase of flowers. And if you just want to ignore requests altogether, there’s a Freeplay mode where you can follow whatever weird artistic idea pops into your head.

If you’re into games that are based on art and design, you can wishlist it on Steam.
