If you’re on the lookout for a deep-space shooter with some roguelite twists and a slick control scheme, then Boom Company from Burt’s Games is definitely going to be right up your alley. And the game will soon launch its Kickstarter campaign.

The game is set in the distant future, in a hyper-capitalist star cluster where money and lasers talk. Boom Company has twin-stick controls that set it apart from other space shooters, letting you fly in all directions and blast at the same time. There are dash and 180 turn moves as well, to make sure you’re always a step ahead of your enemies.

Throw in a cast of intriguing characters and some gorgeous graphics and you’re onto a winner. Here’s a trailer that shows off some of what you can expect from the game if it reaches its Kickstarter goals.

Backers of the game can choose from plenty of different tiers, and there are some awesome rewards. These range from stationery sets to the chance to design your own level. There are exclusive T-shirts, art compendiums and more, depending on how much you donate to the project.

You can even get exclusive access to a closed beta that’ll let you get your hands on the game before anyone else, or a thanks in the credits of the game. Tiers start from HK$10, which converts to about $1.28.

The game has been in development for a year already, and it’s been garnering some buzz. It placed second in the PC and Console category at the Global Games Pitch 2021.
