Garden and a Goat is a cute little animal-collecting game that’s clearly wearing its Viva Piñata inspiration on its sleeve. Now, Contemplation Games, the developer and publisher of Garden and a Goat, has released its demo for PC.

Just ahead of its appearance during June Steam Next Fest

The new Garden and a Goat demo brings refreshed visuals and introduces new animal and plant variants not seen before. One of the new additions is a spicy raccoon variant that just can’t get enough chilli peppers!

And if you haven’t heard of the game before, let me give you a brief intro. Garden and a Goat is a casual, relaxing, single-player animal collecting and ecosystem recovery game. You play as a friendly robot sent across a multiverse of struggling gardens and ecosystems.

Your job is to clean up environmental damage, restore soil, plant vegetation, and convince wildlife to come back home. It’s about helping the ecosystems recover. You’ll clear debris, pull weeds, remove rubble, repair damaged land, and plant native species to rebuild each biome.

Getting animals to stick around isn’t automatic, though. You’ll need to give them plenty of attention. That means petting them, feeding them treats you’ve crafted yourself, and decorating the garden with items they enjoy.

The game also leans into technology to help speed up recovery efforts. You can use tech consoles, scanners, drones, and various gadgets while rebuilding each ecosystem. A cheerful drone assists throughout the process.

Even in the new Garden and a Goat demo, you get new tools, including a lure system and a drone leash ability. It also includes a refined starting experience featuring MOTHER, along with a new crop, a new treat, and better controller support.

Take a look at the game below and get lost in its cuteness and charm! Also, don’t forget to check out the demo on Steam.
