With two entries to date, including the acclaimed N.O.V.A. 2, Gameloft’s N.O.V.A. series has made a name for itself as one of the premier 3D shooter series in the App Store. So it’s a bit surprising to learn that the latest game, N.O.V.A. Elite, will actually be exclusive to Facebook.

Unlike its mobile counterparts, Elite is free-to-play, though of course there are microtransactions that you can spend Facebook Credits on. In addition to being one of the few first-person shooters on Facebook, Elite also sports some impressive 3D visuals, and this has some system requirements. You’ll need to install the Unity web player to access the game, as well as 1GB of ram, and one gigabyte or more of hard drive space available. The game supports Mac OSX systems, and Windows dating back to XP.

Take a look at the game in action below, and stay tuned for our full review of Elite.
