FarmVille coming to the iPhone tomorrow (and first look video)

It looks like FarmVille might just be arriving in time for the US launch of the iPhone 4, as TechCrunch is reporting that the game has already surfaced on the New Zealand App Store. First noticed by blog Mac Stories, New Zealand is often the first country to receive new apps, and almost always signals the propagation of such apps to other countries. Not to be outdone, Games.comhas posted the first gameplay video of FarmVille on the iPhone.

Bringing the game to the iPhone may do more than provide Facebook fans a way to play their favourite game on the go – it also has the potential to bring in new players and rekindle an interest in former Farmville players who may have put the game down long ago. With Zynga’s declining user base, this could be the shot in the arm their lead product needs.

FarmVille’s current monthly active users is sitting at just over 63 million – a sharp decline from the 83 million the game claimed only three months ago. It should be very interesting to see how this mobile move affects the game’s active userbase going forward.
