Souls-Like Action Roguelite Echoes of Myth Is a New PC Title from a Solo Indie Dev
Developer Jukka Tykkyläinen of Shifting Reality Interactive

A new indie action roguelite called Echoes of Myth is out on Steam for PC. It’s from Finnish solo developer Jukka Tykkyläinen of Shifting Reality Interactive. In the game, you take on the role of an unbound child of the divine.
You’re essentially a wandering spirit that possesses mortal vessels and repeatedly attempts to reach the world’s core. It’s a dark fantasy setting where the gods have disappeared, and the world has splintered into drifting realms.
The world is full of relics of divine power, though. You can pick them up and use them while fighting your way toward the centre of the broken reality. Each attempt is part of a cyclical journey. Death doesn’t end the progression but instead acts as a retreat that sends you back stronger.
Echoes of Myth plays from a top-down isometric perspective
Every encounter is meant to be readable and avoidable, but mistakes can still be costly since health and recovery are intentionally scarce. Runs through the game revolve around buildcraft, where you combine weapons, spells, talents, relics, and ability infusions.
Echoes of Myth offers a mechanic called Forks of Fate twice during a run. At those moments, you must pick between major trade-offs that affect the rest of the attempt. It essentially asks you to decide whether to chase higher power, accept extra risk, or balance both.
Catch a glimpse of Echoes of Myth here.
The full game includes 7 handcrafted biomes with different enemy families, along with 7 mechanically distinct major bosses and 10 miniboss encounters. It also includes multiple difficulty settings and an endgame Realm Distortions challenge system for additional hurdles.
You can find Echoes of Myth on Steam with a 15% discount on the base price of $12.99. A playable demo appeared during Steam Next Fest, and it’s still available on the Steam store page for a few more days. So, you can try the game before committing to a full run.
Before leaving, why don’t you check out our next scoop on another new game, Grim Axiom, a Diablo-Like Dark Fantasy Title.
