Double Fine releases physical box set of Amnesia Fortnight prototypes

In November of last year Double Fine funded an internal game jam by allowing people to pay whatever they wanted for access to the prototypes that came out of it. Those who pitched in were also provided a few bonus prototypes, as well as the chance to vote on which ideas they wanted Double Fine to pursue in the jam. All in all, it was a pretty awesome deal. And just when you thought they couldn’t sweeten the pot any further, Double Fine went and released everything in a physical box set. Those rapscallions.

In November of last year Double Fine funded an internal game jam by allowing people to pay whatever they wanted for access to the prototypes that came out of it. And just when you thought they couldn’t sweeten the pot any further, Double Fine went and released everything in a physical box set. Those rapscallions.

The game jam is known as Amnesia Fortnight, and it’s a yearly event that allows everyone at Double Fine to relax a bit and pursue whatever ideas they have brewing in their heads. The most recent Fortnight was a wild departure from the norm, what with all the fan interaction and being filmed by 2 Player Productions the entire time. That last part may or may not have been uncomfortable, but the end result was a documentary that’s included with the box set. Lucky us!

In fact, let’s go down the list of everything you’ll receive if you purchase the set. For $30 you get the aforementioned documentary, all of the Amnesia Fortnight prototypes—Autonomous, Black Lake, Hack ‘N Slash, Spacebase DF-9, The White Birch—additional prototypes in the form of Brazen, Costume Quest, and Happy Song, and a 15-track soundtrack. Should you choose to pay a little more, you can also get slipcases for each of the Amnesia Fortnight prototypes, signed by the project leads. Alternatively, if you’d rather not dish out $30, you can get everything in digital format for $9.99.

Mind you, this box set is currently only available as a preorder. It will ship out as soon as Double Fine receives everything from the manufacturer.
