DeNA and Hasbro announce two new games based on G.I. JOE and Dungeons & Dragons

When TRANSFORMERS: LEGENDS, the addictive card battling take on the successful franchise was released earlier this year, it was clear that developer DeNA Co. had something special on their hands. Luckily, this potential for great things was not lost on Hasbro, Inc., the owner of the TRANSFORMERS name and brand. DeNA Co. has announced this morning a continued partnership with Hasbro, Inc. to develop two new mobile games based on the company’s popular intellectual properties G.I. JOE and Dungeons & Dragons: Wizards of the West Coast.

In G.I. JOE BATTLEGROUND, players will assemble teams of classic G.I. JOE heroes and COBRA villains to engage in heated multiplayer battles with one another online. In Dungeons & Dragons: Arena of War, players will balance questing, character leveling, and team collaboration in the Forgotten Realms, as they take on some high-octane role-playing fun through innovative in-game events and massive multiplayer competitions.

Hasbro, Inc. couldn’t be more excited about continuing to bring their successful brands into the world of mobile gaming alongside DeNA. In the official press release of today’s announcement, Mark Blecher, Senior Vice President of Digital Gaming at Hasbro, Inc. explained his admiration of the TRANSFORMERS: LEGENDS developer: “DeNA brings an unprecedented amount of experience integrating social elements with immersive mobile gameplay, which is a natural fit for the expansion of the G.I. JOE and Dungeons & Dragons brands on mobile devices.”

Both games are expected to launch later this year on iPad, iPhone and Android, and will be free to play. If you want to start prepping now for all the awesome mobile action that’s headed your way, you can pre-register for G.I. JOE BATTLEGROUND on the game’s official website by entering your email, and receive a free exclusive STORM SHADOW character to use in the game. Conversely, you can also pre-register for Arena of War to receive an exclusive “Ultra Rare Power” that you can use to level-up your characters.

But in the meantime, you can always bide your time by soaking in those pretty screens that were released for each game.
