Dead Cells is currently taking beta test sign ups for the mobile version, and it’s exclusive to iOS. Successfully participate and you’ll get a free copy though. Not bad just for playing an early copy of an awesome game.
To get a chance to check it out, you simply have to fill in the following form. If you’re selected, you’ll then have to sign an NDA to ensure you don’t go revealing all of the nifty new features in the mobile version.
If you haven’t heard of this yet, it’s a 2D platformer that draws inspiration from metroidvanias and Dark Souls. You’ll explore a wide variety of gorgeous environments, participating in bone-crunching combat agains a variety of nasty enemies.
Combat is tricky indeed, and you’ll have to learn the attack patterns of your enemies if you plan on succeeding. Death is permanent too, so you’ll really want to be careful here.
There’s plenty of content on offer here, with multiple paths through the various levels, secret areas to discover, and a ton of bosses to defeat. It launches this summer on iOS and Android.
