Zynga details Draw Something’s first year of release

The press surrounding Zynga’s acquisition of Draw Something developer OMGPOP hasn’t always been the most optimistic. In fact, some have argued Zynga made a huge mistake.  That might be true (or it might not be), but we’re not here to talk about doom and gloom. Zynga has released an infographic detailing Draw Something’s performance in its first year on the market, and it’s full of interesting statistics. Care to know how many times Lady Gaga has been drawn? Read on!

All of the statistics can be viewed here, but if you don’t have time for any sort of fancy schmancy infographic, I’ll just share with you the most interesting tidbits:

Draw Something has been downloaded 100 million times. This, in turn, has led to 11 billion drawings – 450,000 of which were tagged on Instagram. There’s no breakdown of which filters were used the most, but we’re going to put our money on sepia.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the game has also enjoyed the #1 spot in 84 countries, with “starfish” being the most popular word in the United States, and “kerstbal” being the most popular in Netherlands. Both of these items are incredibly easy to draw, so shame on all you Draw Something players for not pushing yourselves a little harder.

And speaking of popular drawings, Lady Gaga has been drawn 11 million times, which is only half of the 22 million times that pizza has been drawn. Poor Lady Gaga.

The entire infographic is certainly worth a look if you have the time, if only because it features both a pencil in a suit and an anthropomorphic piece of pizza.
