Cyber Paranoia Is a Medicalcore Romance Otome with Morally Questionable Relationship Choices, Demo Out Now

A dark visual novel with a sci-fi story and which is also a psychological thriller, that’s what Cyber Paranoia is. Made by a solo indie developer, it’s getting ready to be part of the Steam Next Fest, which is running from June 15th to June 22nd.

Cyber Paranoia has launched its demo on Steam

You play as a woman who has been hospitalised because of a mental contagion. After being admitted to a psychiatric institution, you’re selected as a test subject for an experimental treatment program. The treatment involves spending a lot of time with a perfect young man.

But he’s not human, he’s actually a humanoid android designed specifically to conduct your therapy. The therapy sessions can range from gentle care and romantic moments to strict discipline, mechanical procedures, sensory experiments, and various power exchanges.

The game leans heavily into femdom and BDSM themes while exploring love, pain, submission, control, and psychological tension. At the same time, your therapist is watching. So, while you can behave however you want with the android, you also need to think about the impression you leave behind.

Every choice you make affects the android. You can shape both his appearance and personality over time. Depending on how you interact with him, he might become an obedient submissive partner, or he could end up developing a dangerously obsessive attachment to you.

Life inside the institution involves more than therapy sessions. There’s a bit of management mixed in as well. You’ll schedule treatments, submit reports, manage your routine, take breaks, and unlock secret after-hours interactions. Multiple story paths (over 30 endings) are available depending on your methods and decisions.

The Cyber Paranoia demo is out on Steam now. It covers Days 1 through 6 of the common route and lasts roughly 2 to 3 hours per playthrough. It contains more than 20 CG illustrations along with multiple endings.
