Grow a death cult
Are gods born like us, or do they just exist forever? No clue how that works in real life, but I do know how it works in Cult Clicker. It’s the latest project from indie developer Idle Gods, and they just dropped a demo for Cult Clicker on Steam.
You are a newborn God. Fresh out of the divine oven, your job is to harvest souls and unlock increasingly unhinged powers. It’s all to build up your cult by smiting non-believers.
And smiting here gets weird really fast. It includes things like a T-Rex with laser eyes, giant infernos, or a really aggressive sneeze. You have to sacrifice the souls and let the harvesting begin.
Starting off with limited time and limited abilities, you rack up souls and followers. Then, you start unlocking more powers, buffs, and Acts of God, which are your main tools.
Every in-game day gives you a time limit and a set of powers. You have to pick your Act of God and smite the non-believers before the clock runs out.
Priests can protect people, while cultists can accidentally block your attacks. And sometimes random stuff like an innocent puppy might just walk into your fire tornado.
You get a ton of locations, such as parks, city blocks, restaurants, campsites, temples, and even human sacrifice parties. Different powers work better in different places.
Since it’s a cult simulator, you can definitely expect some creepy stuff. Like sacrificing a few followers to unlock something absurd like a great white shark on a skateboard. A totally reasonable trade!
The full version will bring more than 100 powers, different layouts, multiple enemy gods, and hundreds of levels that keep getting harder. You can check out the Cult Clicker demo on Steam. Take a look at the game in case you aren’t able to make up your mind whether you should try the demo or not.
