It’s official – role playing games are the new “farming” games on Facebook. Or is that “city building games”?

CrowdStar, the #2 social games company on Facebook behind Zynga, has released its own casual role-playing game, Mighty Pirates.

This is on the heels of LOLapps releasing Ravenwood Fair last week, Kabam buying WonderHill with the intention of growing its stable of RPGS (Kingdoms of Camelot, Dragons of Atlantis), the success of Verdonia, Dawn of the Dragons. . . and the list goes on. In fact, the only company that seems to not be on the role playing bandwagon so far is Zynga.

Inside Social Games and Games.com have good write-ups about Mighty Pirates. Our first look will be posted very soon.

Be sure to play Mighty Pirates and set an alert to follow Mighty Pirates on Gamezebo.
