The biggest game on Facebook is now a year old. It may be hard to believe, but CityVille, which currently boasts 50 million monthly active users, launched Decemeber 2, 2010. Since then it’s been enjoyed by a huge number of players and to celebrate Zynga has created a handy infographic highlighting some of the more impressive numbers behind CityVille‘s first year on Facebook.

Since then it’s been enjoyed by a huge number of players and to celebrate Zynga has created a handy infographic highlighting some of the more impressive numbers behind CityVille‘s first year on Facebook.
As you can see below, there are currently more burger joints in CityVille‘s virtual cities than there are McDonalds and Burger Kings in the world. Possibly even more shocking is that the number of coffee shops in the game tops the number of Starbucks across the globe. And by a large margin. Of course, while CityVille has managed to dominate Facebook over its first year, the game has also spread elsewhere. There’s a version on Google+, a localized version designed for the Chinese market, and two mobile spin-offss: CityVille Hometown and Holidaytown. And with regular content updates still coming, it looks like there’s still a lot left to enjoy for the millions of CityVille players around the world.
