Halloween may be gone, but that doesn’t mean the spooky festivities have to finish! Thankfully, the legendary Chilla’s Art has released yet another game. Chilla’s Art The Kidnap is a psychological horror game that focuses on the story of a kidnapping in Japan. If you’re familiar with Chilla’s Art games, you’ll know what to expect from this latest installment!

If you’d like to learn more about The Kidnap, make sure to visit the game’s official Steam page – you should also check out the Chilla’s Art page to check out their other games!

The Charm of Chilla’s Art

Personally, I absolutely adore Chilla’s Art games. Some are better than others, admittedly, but the overall artistic direction, plotlines, and horror themes are spot on. Each game follows the mundanity of daily life but all is not what it seems. Whether you’re working as a barista in The Closing Shift, working on the tills in The Convenience Store, or streaming video games in Parasocial, there’s something terrifying about a familiar routine being twisted into something else entirely.

So, What’s The Kidnap About?

Anyway, that’s enough about the previous entries, let’s talk more about Chilla’s Art The Kidnap! I don’t want to go into too much detail as I don’t want to spoil it for those who want to play it for themselves – or watch somebody else play it on YouTube (as a scaredy cat, I’m guilty of this).

The entire map is set in a quiet Japanese neighborhood and a school, adding to the realism factor. Wandering around an environment that you can relate to will always help to create an unsettling eery atmosphere when working on a psychological horror – game or movie!

It hasn’t been that long since Chilla’s Art’s latest game, Parasocial, came out on PC. So I’m more than happy to see another game out in time for the Halloween season. Enough of me talking! I’m off to check out the game for myself, and I recommend that you do too!

If you’d like to find more horror games to play, check out this news article I wrote about Blue Maiden – a game that reminds me of Chilla’s Art titles!
