PixelDuckoo and DomkeGames have announced the release date for Cat Isle. It’s a cosy pixel-art management, sim, and city-building title. With a ridiculous number of cats, it’s launching on July 20th, 2026, on Steam for Windows PC and Mac.

Domke Games and PixelDuckoo are a two-person Brazilian indie team made up of friends. Cat Isle is heavily inspired by Japan’s famous Cat Islands, where you turn the quiet little spot into a thriving town specifically for cats.

Cat Isle starts on a tiny train platform island in the middle of the sea

The game’s focus is on atmosphere, creativity, and just hanging out in the world you’ve created. In the midst of it, you do keep an eye on shop supplies, demand, and all the weird preferences of your feline residents. There’s also fishing, decorating, interacting with cats, and watching them go about their day.

The management revolves around figuring out what different cats actually want. Some might be searching for fresh sashimi, while others would rather spend the afternoon with a cup of tea and a sunny nap. Your job is to observe their habits, discover their favourite meals, drinks, and activities, then stock shops accordingly and keep everyone happy.

It’s inspired by a Japanese theme, so of course, Cat Isle has a Gashapon machine. You can spin it to receive random decorative items ranging from cosy plants to shop ornaments and other little surprises. You can use those decorations throughout the island and customise buildings with plants, lights, and other items.

Cat Isle includes four levels, each featuring its own goals and themes. There’s also a sandbox mode if you just want to build without any objectives. There are more than 17 buildings, three management types, over 100 hand-drawn pixel art decorations, and plenty of cats.

You can wishlist the game on Steam before it drops next month.
