CastleVille moves past five million daily players

It hasn’t taken long for Zynga’s latest release to reach blockbuster status, as the developer has announced that CastleVille has now surpassed five million daily active users in just its first six days of release.

According to Zynga, the early success of the game has been faster than previous Zynga games like CityVille and FrontierVille. CityVille, by comparison, reached 3.2 million DAU after its first six days, while FrontierVille topped 2.6 million. Players are also coming back, as Zynga says that 68 percent of all CastleVille players are playing at least twice a day.

CastleVille is only the latest in a recent flurry of new game releases from Zynga, and will soon be followed by games like Hidden Chronicles on Facebook and Dream Zoo on iOS.
