Candies ‘n Curses will see you entering the shoes of Molli Pop as she fights a range of supernatural enemies ranging from demons to ghosts.
If that sounds a bit dark and spooky don’t worry, it’s actually a fairly light-hearted experience. This is made no clearer by the fact that your main weapon is a flashlight. A quick flash (ahem) and your foes evaporate back to the hell they came from.
The fast paced gameplay means this could be described as an arcade rogue-lite style experience, with the controls very simple indeed. Molli is controlled completely via the touch screen, with different types of swipe causing her to change direction (she move automatically) and also jump between floors.
Candies ‘n Curses ‘n Coolness
You get the chance to upgrade your flashlight across 6 different regions too, so there’s more depth here than you might expect. There are also boss levels, crisp pixel-art visuals, and daily challenges.
Candies ‘n Curses will be released on iOS and Android devices around Halloween – with a tentative 31st of October launch date.
