Last Day of Work has confirmed that Virtual Villagers 3 – one of the most anticipated casual game sequels ever – is on the way. This news and more was announced at the Casual Connect Europe conference currenly taking place in Amsterdam.

ARKADIUM

  • Advergaming and casual game maker Arkadium is growing the company by adding former GameTrust Vice President, Neal Sinno. The company has named Sinno as their new Vice President of Business Development.

    CHAYOWOO

  • ChaYoWo Games, a gaming development and solutions company, has announced the official launch of www.gameZindia.com, their own Indiabased online casual gaming portal.

    COME2PLAY

  • Come2Play Launches Networked Multi-Player Game Channels for Every site Now in Closed Beta. Come2Play is a new startup company specializing in networked multi-player gaming and social gaming networks.

    FLOWPLAY

  • FlowPlay secures funding from INTEL Capital, Ambient Sound Investments, and leading angel investors. Series A financing totals approximately $3.7 million.

    FREEZE TAG

  • Casual games publisher Freeze Tag announced four new titles including Letter Lab, Concentration Hollywood, Paper Chase, and Can You See What I See? based on the best-selling Scholastic children’s book series by Walter Wick, co-author of the I SPY books.

    INTENIUM

  • Intenium and dtp young entertainment, the leader in the sphere of computer games for young audiences, signed an agreement on online games distribution with a separate section of its Deutschland-spielt.de portal devoted to young players.

    KING.COM

  • King.com, the world’s largest skill games site, said that 190 million games were played on the King.com platform in January 2008.

    LAST DAY OF WORK

  • Last Day of Work (LDW), an independent game studio specializing in sophisticated casual games for the mainstream player, today revealed it is developing Virtual Villagers 3 for PC and Mac.

    MERSCOM

  • Merscom, a global distributor, has released word that they will become the online publisher for the scarily good casual game, Ghost in the Sheet.

    PLAYFIRST

  • PlayFirst is announcing at Casual Connect their newest time management game, Doggie Dash. The game follows the story of two pets and their owners, trying to create the ultimate pet spa.

    REBEL MONKEY

  • Rebel Monkey, Inc., a developer and publisher of casual and community games, has raised $1 million in a first round of financing from Redpoint Ventures of Menlo Park, CA.

    REFLEXIVE

  • Reflexive Entertainment today announced that it has reached agreement with OUAT Entertainment to publish the PC casual game Miss Teri Tale. Developed by OUAT, Miss Teri Tale will be a top-notch entrant into the vibrant ‘seek and find’ genre that has driven the growth of the casual games space over the past 18 months.
