But still, with the exception of Gameloft’s sublime clone Order & Chaos Online, Blizzard fanatics haven’t had a true mobile WoW experience to call their own. But that doesn’t mean Blizzard isn’t trying.

But still, with the exception of Gameloft’s sublime clone Order & Chaos Online, Blizzard fanatics haven’t had a true mobile WoW experience to call their own. But that doesn’t mean Blizzard isn’t trying.
“Maybe we’ll stumble on the great way to put WOW on the phone, maybe we won’t,” Senior World of Warcraft producer John Lagrave recently told Eurogamer, “but we’re certainly looking into it … we won’t do it until we think it’s decent.”
That’s not to say Warcraft gamers can’t stay connected to the world of Azeroth in some way on the go – the World of Warcraft Mobile Armory app let’s players participate in the auction house, guild chat, and more – but the full play experience just isn’t available for mobile yet.
And while bringing the full experience mobile seems to be the ultimate goal, Lagrave suggests that there are other elements of the game that might make good candidates for a mobile transition, even if the full game doesn’t: “You can look at fishing and say, ‘Is fishing tailored to being on a table or on a mobile?’ That would be awesome, right? You’re sitting at the airport and think ‘I’ll just go fishing’. We certainly look at pet battles too.”
“When we have an epiphany, everyone will know,” says Lagrave, “but for now, no epiphany!”
