When it comes to video games, art can be the absolute cornerstone of a project. Winning recognition for your designs is the pinnacle of many an interactive artist’s career. Brian Thompson, the art director at Big Fish Games responsible for Fetch, recently received such recognition.

His painting “Dark Ages,” which depicts a scenario from Fetch, was selected as one of 16 winning pieces to be displayed in the 10th annual Into the Pixel collection earlier this summer. (You can check out all of the winning art at intothepixel.com).

Now the folks behind Into the Pixel are sharing interviews with these winning artists. And since Fetch was a winner in our books too, we thought you might like to hear what Brian had to say;

Jim Squires is the Editor-in-Chief of Gamezebo. Everything you see passes his eyes first, so we like to think of him as "the gatekeeper of cool stuff." He likes good games, great writing, and just can't say no to a hamburger. Also, he is not a bear.
