Tiger Eye: Curse of the Riddle Box has an official release date! The romance-themed hidden object game based on Marjorie M. Liu’s novel “Tiger Eye” will be coming out on April 28 with the Mac version launching soon after in May, developer PassionFruit Games confirmed in the company’s latest newsletter.

“It’s been a long road since we first pulled our little studio together back in September, and we’re finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel,” the company said. “It’s satisfying to look back on the things we’ve accomplished thus far: setting up our (physical) office, figuring out how to even start translating a romance novel into a game, concepting all the characters of the Tiger Eye world to meet Marjorie Liu’s vision, getting the game functioning within a brand new coding environment… There are still a bunch of tweaks to make and bugs to fix, but at this point the cake is baked and we’re essentially adding frosting and decoration!”

PassionFruit Games is a new casual games studio founded by former members of Her Interactive who had worked on the Nancy Drew Dossier series. Tiger Eye: Curse of the Riddle Box was first announced back in December, 2009, and Gamezebo previewed the game soon after.

As well as announcing the game’s release date, PassionFruit Games has released two sneak peek trailers of Tiger Eye: Curse of the Riddle Box as well.

The first trailer shows some shots from the in-game cutscenes, and some of the puzzle activities and hidden object scenes:

The second trailer shows a completed cutscene where the main character, Dela, has a frightening premonition about the future.
